Business
arising from previous meeting: ·
The permanent rubber base for
the playground equipment (terracotta colour) will be laid in 3 weeks with the
final 2 pieces of equipment. ·
In P & C newsletter piece
notify parents that Council Rangers will be patrolling school zones for
illegal parking. Request Cherie (as per council’s notification) to write to
Council regarding a Kiss and Drop Zone in Wideview Rd. Judy Hopwood has requested
this to be carbon copied to her office. |

Welcome
to Guest – Local Member Judy Hopwood ·
Terry McKinnon spoke about our
refurbishments in the Schools in the 21st Century Program. Also
under the National School Pride Program the school is hoping to receive 12 interactive
whiteboards and areas to be painting. ·
Judy Hopwood is currently
attending schools discussing the possible advertisement of League Tables and
the restructure of Special Education Classes and support. This was discussed
amongst the meeting with parents and teachers sharing their understanding and
views. Judy Hopwood is taking these matters and schools and parents concerns
to Parliament. ·
Judy also discussed the sale of
land where Berowra Police Station is located and requesting support from the
community in lobbying against this matter. |

Under the National School Pride Program the school had
originally applied for mobile interactive whiteboards but these are not
available therefore the submission is for 12 permanent whiteboards and once
the refurbishments are finished the school may request the support from P
& C to help fund more interactive whiteboards so that all classrooms will
be fitted with one. |

The payment of wages to the canteen manager when
renovations where being completed and the canteen could not be opened were
queried. This matter is to be taken to the next canteen committee meeting and
the role of a sub committee was discussed. |

Rides Day
Update
– More volunteers are needed for Rides day on Sunday 23rd August. ·
Fundraising 1.
Shopping Tour booked for Saturday 19th September. 2.
Outdoor Film Night possibly in October would cost $1,500
which includes insurances, it was suggested that this be postponed due to
renovations. 3.
Cookie Dough fundraiser organised for Term 4, pamphlets
will be sent home for parents to order if they wish. 4. Entertainment Books raised $312.00. ·
Father’s Day
Stall
– Liz has ordered products which should be delivered shortly. Kirsten has
organised a roster for the classes to purchase and appears to have enough
volunteers. ·
PSSA Shirts – Styles of
new shirts were viewed by all attendees. Cost would be $2,500 for new sport
shirts and soccer shirts. It was discussed whether the shirts could be
purchased and sold through the clothing pool or whether P & C purchased
the shirts and requested a bond be given when shirts were taken. Virginia to
discuss with Shayne of Clothing pool if she has a preferred supplier and how
she would be able to deal with purchases or bonds. ·
Hall
Lighting
– Cost of special lighting for hall was circulated approx. $1,000. An
electrician is still needed to check existing lighting. Mal Harpur to
investigate. ·
Shade
Shelters – Purchase of
more shade shelters to be carried over to next meeting. ·
Picnic
Tables in Primary – The Apex Club
of Berowra have offered to supply and build new picnic tables, yet
positioning may not be possible due to renovation. Verlaine to discuss with
Ms Bourke. |
